Digital product refund policy

Effective date 16 October 2026

The Workplace Kit supplies digital HR resources. This policy explains how to request help or a remedy. Contact info@theworkplacekit.com.au with your order number and a description of the issue. Please remove employee and confidential information from screenshots or examples.

Your statutory rights

Our products come with rights under the Australian Consumer Law where it applies. Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts those rights. They are not lost because a digital file has been downloaded, opened or used. Business purchasers may also be entitled to consumer guarantees.

Where a product has a major failure under applicable consumer guarantees, you may be entitled to choose a refund or replacement and to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. For a minor failure, we will provide the remedy required by law within a reasonable time. If we cannot remedy it within that time, further rights may apply. The appropriate remedy depends on the circumstances and applicable law.

Download and file problems

Contact us if your download link is missing or broken, the file is corrupt, promised documents are missing, or you received an incorrect product. We will assess the problem and, where appropriate, restore access or provide corrected or replacement files. We will provide a refund or another remedy when required by law. You do not need to pursue Shopify or a file-delivery provider instead of us.

Please tell us the product, order number, device and software involved, and what happens when you try to access it. We may ask for reasonable information needed to assess the issue. There is no arbitrary short reporting deadline that removes statutory rights.

Change of mind

Because digital files can be retained and copied, we do not offer change-of-mind refunds once the files or working access to them have been supplied. This includes deciding the product is no longer needed or purchasing the wrong toolkit where the description was accurate and no other statutory remedy applies.

If you contact us before files or access have been supplied, we will consider a cancellation request. This does not promise that an instant digital order can be stopped before delivery. Accidental duplicate purchases will be assessed individually; contact us promptly with both order numbers.

How refunds are handled

We aim to respond to refund and access enquiries within five business days. Once a refund is approved or required, we will process it without unreasonable delay. Funds are returned using the original payment method unless another method is agreed. Payment-provider processing times may affect when the amount reaches your account. Store credit will not be substituted for an entitled refund without your agreement.

A full refund cancelling a purchase ends the licence for that refunded product. You must stop new use and remove reusable copies within your control, subject to legal recordkeeping needs and the licence’s protections for existing completed records. This does not condition your statutory refund on waiving rights or deleting records you must lawfully retain. A partial refund or compensation does not automatically cancel the licence.
